Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Third Place (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with our mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are under active development and are not yet generally available to the public. We publish this policy early to be transparent and to support compliance needs as we prepare for launch.
1. Who we are
Third Place is an app-first product focused on helping people discover opportunities to meet matches in person at places they already spend time. If you need to reach us about privacy, use the contact method listed at the end of this policy.
2. Information we may collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect or process categories of information such as:
- Account and profile information — for example, identifiers you provide when creating an account, profile details you choose to share, and content such as photos or prompts.
- Location-related information — the product concept may involve understanding when you are at or near places you designate, subject to your device permissions and in-app settings. Exact implementation may evolve during development.
- Device and technical data — such as device type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic logs to keep the Services reliable and secure.
- Communications — if you email or otherwise contact us, we retain those messages as needed to respond and maintain our records.
We do not intend to sell your personal information. We may use service providers (for example, cloud hosting or authentication) who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, improve, and secure the Services;
- Authenticate users and maintain accounts;
- Operate product features described in the app and in our Terms & Conditions;
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests;
- Communicate with you about the Services, including important notices.
4. Sharing
We may share information with vendors and partners who assist in operating the Services, when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity. If the business structure changes (for example, a merger), information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy we notify you about.
5. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention details may depend on features available at launch.
6. Your choices and rights
Where applicable law provides rights (for example, access, correction, deletion, or portability), you may exercise those rights by contacting us. You can also adjust certain collection through device settings (such as location permissions) where the app supports it.
7. Children
The Services are not directed to children under the age required for use of a dating product in your region, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is intended for adults.
8. International users
If you access the Services from outside the country where we operate infrastructure, your information may be processed in other countries where privacy laws differ. We take steps designed to protect information appropriately.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services evolve. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice as appropriate.
